Summary of Responsibilities

The Process Engineering Manager will manage, and lead commercialization projects for multiple products and processes, and contribute to the development of cutting edge technology to improve performance and reduce cost. The Process Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the company’s Prototyping Center in Carlsbad and Mexico plant, the company’s production operation in Tijuana. In addition as the company expands the Process Engineering Manager will be a key member of the implementation team fro establishing operations both in Asia and potentially Europe over the next few years.

The Process Engineering Manager will be responsible for developing production-ready tooling and fixtures to enable production of products that utilize our advanced materials and patent-protected electrode position process. This position will utilize his/her extensive knowledge of electroplating technology and in-depth troubleshooting to recommend techniques and methods that maximize the efficiency and cost of these systems, as well as to design, set up, maintain and modify the prototyping cell systems as required. The successful applicant will also be responsible for ensuring that the prototyping center maintains a highly effective production schedule to facilitate quick turnaround of customer prototypes and stock samples. This position while based in Carlsbad requires the applicant be able to travel regionally as well as internationally for potential implementation assignments.

Key Specific Responsibilities

Document and Understand Production Requirements - Volume targets, Process establishment, Cost,quality and service goals.
Develop and Test Production Systems – Tooling, Power supplies, Tanks, Plumbing, filtration, and agitation.
Implementation and Operation - Vendor qualification and interaction, adherence to quality requirements, and maintenance requirements, vendor compliance with customer logistics programs, communication on planning and production schedules and investigation and communication of production issues


Qualifications Required

Qualified applicants will possess at least ten years of experience in an electroplating or electroforming operation, with five to seven years of system design and/or shop management.
Technically excellence in electroplating including but not limited to electroless nickel, nickel and chrome plating
In-depth troubleshooting experience
Experience developing best practices in electroplating
Supervisory Experience
Ability to plan and execute to timelines
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word) applications
Thin film coating experience desirable.
Familiarity with material and electromechanical properties of nickel (electrolytic and electroless), copper, zinc, tin, cobalt, phosphorous, and precious metals is a definite plus.
